We are on the hunt for a computational biology scientist with an emphasis on epigenomic analysis. This role involves formulating computational methods and conducting interpretative analyses integral to a variety of therapeutic applications relevant to the emerging wave of next gen precision medicines such as ADCs, RLTs, and immunotherapies and diagnostic applications. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about applying innovative methodologies to reveal key biological insights in patients. If you're intrigued by the prospect of joining an early-stage company with an experienced team operating at a rapid pace, and applying a novel platform to better understand and predict disease biology, this could be your perfect match.
About Us
Founded in 2021, Precede Biosciences is a diagnostic company pioneering a minimally invasive, comprehensive epigenomics platform. Our technology has the potential to profoundly impact the research and development of new medicines and getting the right therapy to the right patient at the right time. More information on our company and platform can be found on our company website and in our recent publication in Nature Medicine.
Our team cares deeply about creating a place where folks can do their best work from the start and have intentionally created an environment that is defined by purpose, teamwork, and excellence. This means nurturing team spirit, facing challenges together, collaboratively solving complex problems, while also ensuring a strong focus on individual initiative, accountability, and delivery.
What You'll Do
You will blend biological insights with computational techniques to develop predictive models with immediate clinical applications.
You will lead projects that bridge the biological understanding of disease-relevant systems with computational analyses to drive diagnostic innovation.
Working with a skilled team of computational biologists, you will spearhead the analysis of novel epigenomic data and refine its clinical impact.
You will explore the biological underpinnings of numerous disease areas to produce biologically informed analyses that demonstrate significant endpoints.
Additionally, you will create novel predictors with diagnostic relevance suitable for clinical use.
As a key member of a cross-functional team that encompasses clinical, translational, computational, and product development, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to make innovative diagnostics a reality.
What You'll Bring
PhD in Computational Biology, or related field, and 0-4 years experience in industry or as a postdoc
You have experience in using computational analyses of the epigenome to weave a compelling biological narrative.
You are comfortable presenting this narrative in a group setting.
All levels of experience are encouraged to apply, and the role will be set commensurate with your experience.
You are excited by challenging problems and a fast-paced work environment.
You thrive in startup culture, comfortable taking on new projects with minimal direction, and are adaptive in response to feedback and evolving information.
You are proficient in either R (Bioconductor) or Python.
You value diversity, learning from various perspectives, and working collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams.
We believe in building an inclusive and balanced team. We also know meeting every single-exact-criteria can get in the way of meeting stellar folks. Please don’t hesitate to apply!
