This position is responsible for annual cost report filings and other supporting activity for assigned entities. The manager serves as a main point of contact for governmental reimbursement issues.

Essential Job Functions
- Prepares, submits, and reviews annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and various other regulatory filings that may be required on behalf of System.
- Leads and coordinates cost report preparation process and serves as a resource for questions posed by the preparers.
- Manages Medicare and Medicaid cost report reviews and audits. Audits and reviews including overall cost report, wage index, bad debt, S-10, Medicaid log and Medicaid eligible days.
- Reviews monthly settlement reserve entries.
- Researches reimbursement and regulatory issues and provides analyses to System Director or other ministry stakeholders.
- Serves as point of contact and subject matter expert for governmental reimbursement and regulatory issues.
- Mentors and trains staff, as needed.
- Prepares reimbursement related reports or analyses as needed by leadership.
Employment Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor Specialty/Major: Accounting, Business or Finance
Preferred Education: Master’s Specialty/Major: Accounting Business or Finance
Licensure/Certification Required: None
Licensure/Certification Preferred: CPA, FHFMA, CNRA or CRCR
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in government reimbursement in a healthcare consulting, governmental intermediary, or multi-hospital health system setting
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to research reimbursement or net revenue issues and provide practical interpretations and solutions.
