SCS Engineers is looking for an Associate HR Business Partner (AHRBP). In this role you will support the HRBP team in aligning human resources strategies with business objectives. This role partners with managers and employees to foster an engaging, high-performance culture while consulting with the HRBP team to ensure HR practices contribute to achieving company goals. It’s a blend of strategic support and hands-on HR work. You can be hybrid in our Long Beach Headquarters with a minimum of 2 days/week in the office.
How you can make an impact:- Consult with HR Business Partners while collaborating closely with department leaders to understand business needs and develop HR solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on employee relations matters.
- Conduct employee investigations, provide coaching and counseling and consult with HRBPs on proposed solutions to ensure decisions align with company policies and HR best practices.
- Interpret company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs and provide appropriate training to management regarding relevant Federal, State and Local employment laws while keeping HRBPs informed on any anomalies, complex issues, or unique scenarios to ensure awareness of current business practices and trends.
- Work with HRBP’s to identify talent needs and develop strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
- Stay abreast of the region’s employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, conducting regular audits as needed.
- Prepare data insights and reports for HRBPs to support business decisions around people and performance.
- Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives, including performance management, talent development, and employee engagement.
- Prepare and analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement to HRBP and Sr. HRM
- Collaborate with HRBP and Learning & Development teams to identify training needs and upskilling opportunities.
- Act as a change champion, supporting employees and managers through organizational changes.
- Support the company’s Affirmative Action Plan initiatives within assigned client groups.

- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related major preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Supplementary training and/or designations (M.A., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) related to the human resource field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a business partner or generalist capacity required.
- Experience working with construction or field staff is preferred.
- Va;id driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
