The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Manufacturing Manager (Level L) to join our dynamic team in Berkeley, Missouri.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead 777X Assembly for BDS Operations. The BDS 777X Assembly team is responsible for assembling 12 commodities with 67 total assemblies for the BCA 777X program including: rudder, elevators, flaperons, ailerons, folding wing tips, fixed leading edges, flaps, fairings and spoilers.
The BDS 777X Assembly Senior Manager is responsible for daily operations and performance to all key performance indicators: safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Additionally, this manager will be tasked with leading the integrated team through multiple rate breaks over the next several years.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives
- Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers
- Rates readiness planning and preparedness for all rate changes (777X has extensive rate breaks planned over the next 3 years) including Oobeya maturation and value stream engagement
- Performs to plan on all key performance indicators: people, safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation
- Maintains and contributes to the 777X standards of high morale and extremely empowered and motivated teammates
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and managers performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input, oversight and approval on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives
- Promotes employee engagement and builds an organizational culture that fosters safety and quality performance, improves employee satisfaction and retains a skilled and motivated workforce
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position could be for various shifts (1st or 2nd).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- More than 5 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)
- More than 3 years of experience working directly with executives or senior leaders
- More than 5 years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
- More than 3 years of experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
- More than 5 years of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- More than 5 years of experience demonstrating people management skills to include coaching, teaching, mentoring
- More than 3 years of experience in implementing lean methodologies and productivity improvements
- More than 3 years of experience in using Lean+ and/or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.)

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.

Summary pay range: $124,950 - $169,050
