ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Product Manager – Technical to lead product development across our Manufacturing Engineering and Test Systems workstreams.
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping Bright Machines’ vision for seamless integration between our software and the engineering and test systems that power our factory of the future. We are looking for a strategic product leader who can collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Test, Automation, and broader engineering teams, while also identifying emerging technologies that can enhance the integration between our software and automation hardware. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in developing OT/IT technologies within manufacturing environments, particularly in the compute or GPU server industries. Experience working directly in manufacturing settings is highly valuable.
This is a cross-functional role requiring close partnership with teams across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Delivery, Supply Chain, and Field Services. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Own the product strategy and execution for manufacturing engineering and test systems supporting the upcoming Bright Machines model factory.
Define and maintain the product roadmap for manufacturing engineering systems and test platforms used in AI server and rack testing.
Lead the end-to-end requirements process: gather and prioritize requirements, author detailed specifications and collaborate with engineering teams to improve current-generation products and define next-generation solutions.
Drive product launches in coordination with operations teams and external customers, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
Collaborate with program and delivery teams to understand market trends and evolving customer needs to inform future product development.
Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet technical and operational specifications.
Evaluate new applications, use cases, and proof-of-concept initiatives, prioritizing the product roadmap based on data and strategic impact.
Provide ongoing support, product expertise, and guidance to field operations teams.
Travel occasionally to factory and customer manufacturing sites as needed.
WHAT WE WANT TO SEE
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in electro-mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
At least 5 years of experience in embedded systems, robotics, and/or mechatronics product development, ideally within a manufacturing environment and comfortable working on the factory floor
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in industrial software product management
Experience managing both hardware and software product lifecycles, with a focus on computer server design and NTI/NPI (New Technology Introduction/New Product Introduction) processes
Strong ability to understand and work with complex hardware systems and industrial robotics
Experience working in a matrixed environment; collaborating effectively across R&D, systems engineering, and field support teams
Demonstrates a systems-level mindset with a strong customer-centric approach
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD
Strong experience in developing electro-mechanical systems and products, with expertise spanning both hardware and software disciplines
Deep experience in the enterprise and datacenter server industries, including product lifecycle and system-level integration
Proven background in manufacturing automation solutions, with hands-on experience interfacing with factory operations and understanding factory workflows and dynamics (highly preferred)
Working-level understanding of robotics and its application in manufacturing environments
Familiarity with key factory KPIs and practical experience in driving measurable improvements in production performance
Solid understanding of manufacturing logistics, supply chain flows, and factory floor constraints
MBA with a focus in Product Management or equivalent business education is highly desired
