The Department of International Affairs in The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University invite applications for a temporary, part-time, non-tenure track faculty during the 2025-2026 academic year, in its Extended Education online graduate programs.  The anticipated start date of this position is August 11, 2025. The online faculty hired will be employed as a Visiting Lecturer teaching one online graduate course of three graduate credit hours during the academic year in Advanced International Affairs, and the online faculty will also complete academic administrative duties as Visiting Lecturer for the Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs (CAIA) with the administrative title of Graduate Certificate Director for the Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs.

The administrative duties of this position include: reviewing prospective student applications for admission, assisting students toward successful program completion and staffing the online classroom(s) with instructors who support the mission of the Office of Extended Education and the Bush School. This position holds periodic online meetings with faculty in the graduate certificate program, reviews program assessment plans, and also helps to ensure the curricular and fiscal well-being of the program as it relates to education and helping to maintain/grow enrollment.  This position also participates in activities that promote the stature of the department and the campus and abides by the rules and regulations set forth by the Office of Extended Education, The Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M University System, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Department of Education, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). 

The position is an online, remote position with Texas A&M University. The Department of International Affairs is one of three departments in the Bush School of Government and Public Service. Additional information about the Bush School is available at https://bush.tamu.edu/


For visiting appointments as a Visiting Lecturerapplicants must have:

  • A doctoral or Juris Doctorate in a closely related social science discipline, or one of the following:
  • A master's level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach, along with significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field or
  • Have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting

The successful candidate must have experience in graduate level teaching online, graduate certificate student recruitment, prospective student application review, the WebAdMIT system, and student advising experience. The successful candidate must also have experience in online graduate program assessment using the Heliocampus system, and graduate certificate program management experience in advanced international affairs.
