Job Summary
Primarily responsible for leading, developing, planning and driving sales efforts through the team of regional business development reps focused on the securing business from customers in ERCOT that are desirous of customized energy contracts. Directly managing and driving performance toward achievement of Quota, Channel contributes a significant portion of the annual delivered volume for TXU Energy. Directly responsible for leading a team of 5-7 business development representatives. Directly responsible for the development of sales strategies and methodologies – all focused on meeting and exceeding company volume / profit objectives for business markets.
Job Description
•Develops complex account channel strategies / tactics to close deregulated energy services transactions including electricity and natural gas risk-managed products to meet or exceed company profit objectives.
•Leads a team of direct sales executives focused on the execution of profitable electricity contracts to meet or exceed the margin and volume objectives for the large business segment.
•Develops, tracks, and manages the core sales activities of the sales executives to ensure that activities are aligned with driving incremental volume and margin.
•Develops and initiates regional sales strategies which comply with all operational and regulatory rules and meet company profit and volume objectives.
•Responsible for the ongoing management, recruitment, reviewing, training and retention of the team’s sales personnel to maximize sales efficiency in the assigned territories as well as maintain adequate sales coverage to ensure long term targeted company profits.
•Provides coaching and developmental support to continuously improve capabilities of the sales team.
•Communicates effectively with the senior leadership team to implement necessary business strategies and programs that drive customer satisfaction and channel growth
•Pursue innovative business opportunities to increase brand loyalty and ensure continuous margin expansion.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
•8 – 10 years of job-related experience – Texas energy market (gas / power). 5 -7 years experience of management of team, selling energy products or services preferred.
•Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
•Significant experience and understanding of deregulated energy market. Experience and strong knowledge of physical/financial products used in energy marketplace.
•Experience with Salesforce – building reports and identifying trends; implementing strategies to remain relevant in dynamic and evolving market.
•HS Diploma or equivalency required.
Key Metrics
•Annual Business Markets Sales Plan- focused on meeting current year sales targets and delivering signed volumes for benefit of Vistra.
•Sales Team Quota – assigned to individual sales executives – performance achievement based on Term CM, volume and other sales activity-based metrics to drive intended results – annual sales plan.
•Growth and health of channel – develop and implement strategies to drive customer engagement.
•Renewal / acquisition win rates, development of pipeline/ deal flow, obtaining actionable competitive intelligence and engaging with key groups and individuals to maintain a pulse on the competitive landscape.
•Face to face relationship development with customers and prospects to both deepen and develop customer relationships.
