This position is part of the Inbound Supply Chain organization in Sysco’s Global Support Center and aligned to one of two roles as defined below.
This colleague will design, model, negotiation and communicate Sysco’s redistribution network supply chain for North America (inclusive of but not limited to RDCs, Forward Warehouses, European Imports, Greco & Sons, Cross-dock network, Central Warehouse, etc.) or model, analyze and negotiate the supplier defined freight revenue values for all North America.
The individual in this position will serve as the subject matter expert in multi-echelon supply chain network modeling, upper echelon cost of goods oversight, and re-distribution supplier negotiations or serve as the subject matter expert in supplier direct freight revenue modeling and negotiations.
Both roles will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with broad cross-functional key stakeholders in all necessary departments. Examples of these internal stakeholders include but are not limited to GSC Executive Management, Global Trade Management, GSC Sourcing, GSC Category Management, OpSite leadership, Specialty company leadership, suppliers, RDC operations, SMS International, and other various GSC and location specific departments.
Responsible and accountable for the continuous oversight of supply chain profitability for products managed in an upper echelon facility (currently 33% of US OpSite total spend with plans to increase in the future to an amount that is TBD) or responsible and accountable for the continuous oversight of OpSite direct supplier freight revenue market relevancy.
Both roles are responsible for ongoing design and execution of tools and processes required to meet the current and newly defined business needs as it relates to product flow via an upper echelon model. This position will interact with all levels of the organization from individual contributors to C-Level Executives on a regular basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of performance in all areas of responsibility and development of ongoing succession plan. Identify and provide coaching to maximize performance needs of direct reports in alignment with the Leadership Behavior Framework. Administration of Career Development Plans (CDPs) for up-and-coming leaders.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and intermediaries. Includes, but not limited to, Sourcing, Inventory Management, Global Trade Category Management, Executive Leadership, and field facing key stakeholders.
Develop and lead the ongoing activities required to support the growth of re-distribution expansion to support all North America entities or develop and lead the ongoing activities required to support the expansion of OpSite direct freight management for all North America entities.
Develop and execute the annual strategy, plan and goals for each upper echelon facility and department initiatives. Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes. This includes financial oversight of benefit by redistribution location ensuring the identified targets are being achieved or financial oversight of OpSite direct freight revenue by supplier and lane ensuring that market relevancy is being achieved.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree a plus.
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Logistics.
MBA Supply Chain is a plus.
Experience Required:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in supply chain management including supply chain negotiations + direct report responsibilities.
Experience Preferred:
10+ years’ supply chain management experience in wholesale foodservice distribution with third party logistics and owned locations.
Technical Skills and Abilities:
Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, suppliers, warehouse operations, and third-party logistics providers.
Effective working in a heavily matrixed environment.
Change Management leader, enabler to integrate, enhance, and transform the organization to support continued growth in import and export activities.
Requires in-depth knowledge of the function, business strategies, and the company’s goals as well as external factors that may impact the success of achieving set targets.
Consistently works with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business.
Thorough assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates core issues, providing strategy and direction for Global Trade Compliance areas.
