Job Summary: This AIRPLANE PILOT position is located at unit level in the Air National Guard (ANG) Aviation Wing, Operations Group at flying units in the ANG and is part of the CA 146 AW. This position works specifically in the Safety Office.
Major Duties:
- THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the AIRPLANE PILOT, GS-2181-13, is to pilot a unit-equipped(UE) airplane and perform administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program. This is an open until filled announcement. The announcement will be posted until all positions have been filled. Qualifications: General Experience: Federal Aviation Administration certification awarded from an accredited civilian aviation program or have a aviation certification from an accredited military aviation school AND have one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or comparable military rank) immediately below the next higher level. AIRPLANE PILOT, GS-2181-13: Must have at least 2 years of specialized experience in operating aircraft controls and equipment, developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders; using applicable Army aviation regulations, policies, requirements and standards, skills and practices; and, the application of instructional techniques to the training of other pilots in the Army National Guard flying facilities and performing aviation duties such as, cancelling flying activities, diverting aircraft, dictating mission requirements, approving specific activities, coordinating for airport or airspace utilization with FAA, or directing emergency actions that involved unit support agencies.
