Job Overview

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is in search of a driven Senior Business/Data Analyst to join our Permit Transformation Program team. This remote contract position offers a remarkable chance to lead data analysis initiatives that transform the way we manage and standardize data across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead data analysis projects that align with the objectives of the Permit Transformation Program.
• Collaborate closely with fellow data analysts, data architects, and application developers to formulate an enterprise data model that fulfills both business and technical specifications.
• Provide expert guidance on database management systems and tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Dataverse, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
• Drive the standardization of shared data entities and attributes throughout the DEQ enterprise.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Oracle, DB2, MySQL, and SQL Server.
• Advanced knowledge of desktop applications, specifically MS Access and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical capability coupled with leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration aptitude.
  
  

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a Business/Data Analyst role or a related capacity.
• A solid foundation in data analysis and database management, with a minimum of 5 years in the field.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a corresponding discipline is required.
