We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Claims Expert to join our P&C Reinsurance team in the Zurich, Munich, Paris or London office. If you are enthusiastic to work in a global and multi-cultural environment, then this fascinating position could be for you!
About The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for handling a reinsurance claims portfolio, primarily with focus on the Engineering lines of business in the EMEA markets.
Key responsibilities:
Manage and oversee an Engineering claims portfolio by ensuring state-of-the-art claims management under your full responsibility. Assess high-profile claims from a quantum, root cause and liability point of view as well as from an original policy and reinsurance perspective. Monitor, steer and control claims adjudication processes to create impact, generate insights and identify trends. Provide excellent client service and conduct claims reviews, audits and trainings. Actively participate in cross-functional market teams (XFT), providing valuable claim insights and expertise to support market executives, client managers, and underwriters. Represent Swiss Re's expertise at industry events, client engagements, and conferences, fostering relationships with key stakeholders including clients, attorneys, adjusters, and specialists. Contribute to our Thought Leadership activities and internal Claims Expert Networks, leveraging insights to differentiate Swiss Re and deliver added value to clients. Establish and maintain a structured feedback loop, ensuring effective communication with Underwriting, Contracts, and Risk Engineering Services. Demonstrate a strong Performance Culture and engage in special tasks and projects.
About The Team
You will be part of the Specialty Claims team and work together with experienced claims handlers with different professional backgrounds and nationalities. In addition, you will collaborate with our Operations, Reserving and Market Unit colleagues in different functions and locations.

University degree or equivalent in Engineering combined with a strong commercial mindset.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years consistent track record in (re-) insurance and claims handling or underwriting in the Engineering Line of Business. Proven experience in knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and delivering client service. Pronounced communication, negotiation and analytical skills. Fluent in English and excellent knowledge of French. Any other language is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office suite. Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
