Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer with strong architectural and engineering capabilities to design and implement enterprise-scale security solutions. This contractor role focuses on securing both cloud (Azure) and on-premise infrastructure, aligning with best security practices and business needs.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and implementation of security solutions across the enterprise. Your expertise will help solve complex information security challenges while supporting the secure operations of the business and its partners. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of infrastructure security, cloud security architecture, and the ability to develop a hardening baseline for technology stacks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development: Plan, develop, and implement enterprise security solutions, including authentication, public key infrastructure (PKI), data loss prevention, and security event management.
  • Secure Architecture: Design secure architectures for cloud (Azure) and on-premise environments that meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Hardening Baseline: Create and maintain a hardening baseline for technology stacks, ensuring robust defense mechanisms.
  • Risk Management: Contribute to strategic security plans that address enterprise risks and support business operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure security solutions are integrated into the overall IT infrastructure.

Top Skills Required:

  • Hardening Baseline Development: Proven experience in developing security baselines for technology stacks.
  • Azure Cloud Security: Expertise in designing and implementing secure Azure cloud services.
  • Infrastructure Security: Strong understanding of network security protocols, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection technologies like cryptography and tokenization.
  • Threat Modeling & Risk Assessment: Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment frameworks to secure environments.

Technical Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of network security protocols, best practices, and perimeter defense tools.
  • Strong understanding of IAM controls, including SAML, OAuth/OIDC-based authentication, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with cryptography, hashing, and other data protection techniques.
  • Familiarity with Azure native security services and best practices for cloud security.
  • Understanding of security controls for event logging, endpoint management, and remote access.

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Ability to work through ambiguity and adapt to evolving security challenges.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a focus on cross-functional teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
