O&M Engineer- OPEX (all genders)

Your future tasks:

The O&M Engineer- OPEX will be responsible for managing and forecasting the operational costs and decommissioning processes for multiple offshore windfarm projects. This role requires extensive experience in the O&M phase of offshore wind operations, with a strong focus on budget management, regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental protection.

This role contains 3 main responsibilities:-

  • Operational Expenditure (OPEX) Management
    • Develop and manage the annual OPEX budgets for offshore windfarm projects.
    • Monitor and report operational costs, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Provide OPEX assumptions for new projects across Global markets.
    • Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
    • Assist with the preparation of regular financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Decommissioning Planning and Management
    • Develop and update decommissioning budgets for existing and future projects
    • Develop comprehensive decommissioning cost plans for offshore windfarm assets reaching the end of their operational life.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure costs are benchmarked and evaluated for all decommissioning activities.
    • Oversee the cost benefits for removal, recycling, and disposal of offshore wind turbines, foundations, subsea cables, and associated infrastructure
  • Project Coordination and execution
    • Manage project schedules, ensuring timely and efficient completion of O&M and decommissioning activities.
    • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts.
    • Provide regular updates and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.


Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the offshore wind industry, with a focus on O&M and decommissioning.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing large-scale budgets.
  • Extensive knowledge of offshore wind turbine technology, marine engineering, and subsea infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel is required.
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis tools are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and data analysis for windfarm operations are preferred.
  • Ideally you also have knowledge of decommissioning technologies and best practices.
