What You'll Do

Job Summary

You will be reporting to the Director - Professional Service. You will work from the Pune office

Avalara's Professional Services team is looking for a Manager to oversee multiple businesses, leading teams in India and collaborating with stakeholders across the US and India. This prestigious role offers the chance to excel within a distinguished team, delivering top-tier sales and use tax automation services and managing complex projects.

What You'll Need to be Successful

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage operations with a focus on Turn Around Time and Quality.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, execute, control, and complete assigned projects.
  • Diligently manage and coordinate projects, adhering to timelines.
  • Implement process improvement strategies, policies, and processes to enhance performance.
  • Monitor client projects and solve issues to maintain progress.
  • Use analytical skills to document business processes and recommend best practices for tax automation plans.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of team processes.
  • Conduct performance discussions and feedback sessions.


About The Team

Qualifications

  • You should have 8+ years of experience in a shared services model, managing teams and engaging with stakeholders outside India.
  • 5 years of people manager with people development, morale building, and process migration experience.
  • Independently execute plans, anticipating operational exigencies.
  • Organize and classify data, draws logical conclusions, and identify solutions to address issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders towards strategic goals, handling conflict and facilitating resolution.
  • Ability of making both right and difficult decisions, functioning as a partner with onshore management.
  • Determine long and short-term implications of actions while solving problems with an appetite for problem-solving.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sales tax compliance
  • Worked in a leadership role managing multiple functional stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Experience managing team
