About the job

As an ITAM Software Asset Management Administrator at Hagerty, you will lead the optimization of our software assets using the ServiceNow platform. Your role focuses on the holistic management of technology assets, defining standards, processes, and governance within the Hagerty Software Asset Management program. You'll oversee software discovery, licensing, procurement, and reconciliation processes to ensure efficient software asset management practices within our ServiceNow environment. You will ensure continuous process improvement within the Asset Management System and work cross functionally to ensure integration with Procurement, Security, Operations and Cloud Service Teams.

What You’ll Do

  • ITAM Software Asset Management:
    • Manage and develop the ITAM Software Asset Management system.
    • Oversight of SAM development to align with Organizational Strategy
  • Software Discovery and Identification:
    • Identify software publishers and products for accurate tracking.
    • Create custom software product records in ServiceNow.
    • Configure and assign discovery maps for accurate software discovery.
    • Ensure key software model attributes are up to date.
  • Software Suite Management:
    • Define and maintain software suite components.
    • Keep software model records updated and complete with relevant information.
    • Establish software lifecycle records to track versions, updates, and end-of-life information.
  • Licensing and Procurement:
    • Validate available software entitlements for compliance.
    • Verify software acquisition requirements based on business needs.
    • Review and approve procurement requests for software purchases.
    • Generate and issue purchase orders.
    • Process and record software entitlement information.
    • Determine the appropriate software model and license type.
    • Identify entitlements that need upgrading and integrate process with Procurement to build usage rules.
    • Assign relevant license metrics and update purchased rights.
    • Link software entitlements to contracts and financial information.
    • Assign or update software models for version changes.
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of software entitlement records.
    • Allocate entitlement rights to users or devices.
    • Maintain and update software installation records.
    • Correct or reject normalized software discovery models.
    • Resolve unmatched software installations.
    • Establish pattern normalization rules.
    • Review and validate suggestions for normalizing software discovery data.
    • Define the scope of software reconciliation efforts.
    • Regularly review reconciliation results and take corrective actions.
    • Identify and recommend remediation actions for non-compliant software.
    • Execute approved remediation actions.
    • Develop and implement reclamation rules.
    • Validate and process software removal requests.
    • Establish client access records for specific software versions or editions.
    • Maintain accurate user or device counts on client access records.
    • Analytics and Reporting and Knowledge Base

  • Ensure accurate and UTD documentation for SAM administration activities
    • Analyze software usage data to optimize licensing and procurement decisions.
    • Develop, measure and report on KPI’s to demonstrate the health of the Software Asset Environment
This might describe you

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in IT asset management, operations, disaster recovery, or business continuity.
  • Knowledge of information classification and data protection frameworks.
  • Experience with security and risk frameworks (e.g., ISO, PCI DSS, NIST, CIS, and SANS Critical Controls).
  • Vendor/Contract/SOW Management Experience
  • Strong IT governance program experience.
  • Advanced ServiceNow experience.
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley, if applicable.

This position can be worked as remote position within the United States.

Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
