JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. For work specific to Colorado Springs, JT4 supports the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) -- Electronic Domain portion of the range.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Under general supervision and using manual and/or the appropriate drafting software, A Drafter II prepares drawings, drawing packages, and parts lists of complex parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable drafting standards. This position will provide support for the Transportable Range Operations Center (TROC), Range Closed Loop Environment (RCLE) and associated/related sub-systems and equipment.

 

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

  • Use appropriate industry symbology to create printed circuit board detail and assembly drawings, schematic drawings, wiring, logic, and block diagrams.
  • Create drawings by hand or using software programs.
  • Perform other routine drafting activities as directed such as revising or redrawing existing drawings, making blocks, cells, etc.
  • Ensure all work conforms to DoD MIL-STD-100 and company drafting standards.
  • Create output drawings in various formats from electronic files of various types.
  • Create/edit charts, images, and presentation materials.
  • Provide drawings incorporating drafting manual standards and procedures, architectural standards, and other national standards.
  • Maintain files and backup disks.
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

A graduate certificate from a two- to four-year technical institute, or equivalent training is preferred. A minimum of one year experience in a related field, preferably in RF communications, is required for this position.

In addition, a Drafter II must possess the following qualifications:

  • Competence in the use of CAD software or similar program such as Visio, as appropriate to specific assignments.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Planning/organizational skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines

SALARY

The Area Wage Determination (AWD) for this position is $26.10 per hour.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.

JT4 employees will only operate equipment that they have been fully trained on and/or are certified to operate. If working in a training capacity, employees must be supervised at all times by a competent trained or certified company employee. Under no circumstances should employees use another employee's equipment without permission from their immediate supervisor or manager. Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4-owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval of the shop manager.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
