We are looking for a Python Developer who will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Passenger Counts Database System (PCDS). PCDS assists train operating companies comply with their statutory requirement to provide regular reports of passenger numbers to the Department for Transport by collating, cleansing and summarising aggregate passenger data captured from a variety of sources including automatic on-train measuring equipment, manual conductor counts, and barrier gates. It is a cloud hosted Software-as-a-Service Web application supported by a layered architecture that includes an API and relational database.

What you will do..

  • Contributing to product technical design.
  • Writing appropriate technical and end-user documentation
  • Customer interaction for purposes such as requirements gathering/ analysis, issue and query resolution, and rollout planning,
  • User interface design
  • Product software development (especially Web front end),

Who you'll be..

  • Required technical skills are Python, Django, JavaScript, HTTP, HTML, CSS, and associated debugging techniques.
  • Desirable technical skills are JavaScript UI frameworks, Playwright, C#, Delphi, JSON, XML, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, AWS, test-driven development and version control systems.
