Position Summary:

West Hartford Public Schools seeks to fill a position for a full-time secretary at Conard High School, supporting the Department Supervisor for School Counseling, Registrar and School Counselors.

Requirements:

Prior secretarial experience in a school setting.
Understanding of timeline management and urgency.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Strong computer skills, including Google Workspace - Calendars, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc., and Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, self-starter, and solid telephone etiquette.
Proficiency in scheduling appointments for students and counselors, managing meetings on calendars, and coordinating department events.
Ability to work with and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to communicate positively and effectively with staff, students, parents, and/or visitors regarding school counseling matters.
Ability to make basic math computations and calculate percentages.
Manage the flow of students through the school counseling office.
Experience with PowerSchool, Naviance, CT Seds, and SmartPass.
Experience with student records.
Bilingual preferred (Spanish or Portuguese).
