Your Role      

 
As a Specialist, Data Solutions you will play a pivotal role in supporting IAG’s purpose of making the world a safer place by enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. This role combines technical expertise with business acumen to develop and implement comprehensive data strategies that serve diverse business functions. It involves leading stakeholder workshops, designing advanced data models, and applying analytics to generate actionable insights. 

 

 

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be: - 

 

  • Lead workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements and align product objectives with business goals. 

  • Design and document scalable, high-performance data models using SQL and DBT. 

  • Develop user stories and customer personas to guide data product development. 

  • Conduct advanced data analysis using AI techniques to support strategic decisions. 

  • Estimate project timelines and resources, collaborating with delivery leads for efficient execution. 

  • Provide post-deployment support to ensure data solutions remain effective and responsive. 

  • Oversee data definitions and classifications to ensure compliance with governance standards. 

  • Collaborate with the data product team to maintain data security, integrity, and compliance. 

  • Stay current with industry best practices in data engineering and DBT. 

  • Analyse product metrics to improve functionality, user satisfaction, and overall success. 

 

 

This is a permanent opportunity open to candidates based anywhere in Gadigal country ( Sydney) 

  

About You      

  

The successful candidate will have:   

 

 

 

  • A blend of AI expertise, data science proficiency, and engineering deployment skills. 

  • Proven experience in data scientist role with experience in complex data products.  

  • Experience building and activating AI models for decisioning, optimisation, and automation. 

  • Hands-on experience with Vertex AI, PyTorch/TensorFlow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and orchestration APIs 

  • Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes) 

  • Capability to build and integrate AI agents into production environments and business workflows 

  • Advanced proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing. 

  • Strong command of SQL, BigQuery, and DBT for data engineering 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic outcomes.  

  • Proven leadership in stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.  

  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex data concepts.  

  • Adaptability and problem-solving in dynamic environments.  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field experience.
