As our Staff Backend Engineer for Global Inventory and Promise Systems team, you will empower Coupang Fulfillment & Transportation to operate faster, better, and cheaper through modern, reliable, and data-driven technologies. In this role, you will be a key contributor to an area of the business that is rapidly expanding and is recognized for its Rocket Delivery service. The Fulfill to Promise (F2P) team optimizes the real-time distribution of customer orders to FCs nationwide and supports the most efficient order fulfillment process. The F2P team already builds services that process thousands of requests per second, generate trillions of won annually in business decisions, and manage business rules that move millions of products. We are responsible for improving order coordination with technology to deliver products to millions of online shoppers. The role will involve technical leadership on Fulfillment optimization and working on complex supply chain optimization problems.
What You Will Do-
- Serve as a technical lead on our most demanding, cross-functional projects involving fulfillment optimization.
- Independently improve the quality of architecture and design of systems.
- Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
- Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Develop complex and efficient functions to transform raw data sources into powerful, reliable components of our data lake.
- Grow our analytics capabilities with faster, more reliable data pipelines, and better modern tools.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including Java.
- 7+ years of experience leading large-scale projects.
- 7+ years of knowledge of emerging platforms, Java, C/C++, Android, iOS, operating system principles, and programming best practices.
- Strong understanding of backend scalable software architecture, distributed systems, and message-oriented architecture.
- Experience of full-stack, high-scale production systems with fault-tolerance and monitoring.
- Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Kafka and Spark-Streaming.
- Data caching and storage techniques and Creating distributed software architectures with horizontal scale.
- Operationalizing software in a large-scale environment with high availability requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the eCommerce domain involved in supply chain optimization using Operation research optimization algorithms especially for an E-commerce setup.
- Software development experience with Java, Scala and Python.
- Experience with AWS would be a plus.
