POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Portfolio Manager builds and supports models and processes used in the management of the greater than $100B in Nuveen multi-asset portfolios. The portfolios include award winning target-date funds, model portfolios, variable annuities (CREF), and separate accounts. Portfolios invest in public equity & fixed income, alternatives (real estate), and annuities (TIAA). The role spans the investment process, from executing daily portfolios to communicating research and investment processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and support models and processes used in the management of multi-asset portfolios.
Processes include portfolio construction, risk analysis, and manager analysis.
Contribute to team research projects that span the entire investment process.
Take on primary responsibility for specific aspects of the team’s process.
Work with groups across Nuveen to ensure success of TDMA platform.
Communicate team research and processes to internal and external stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
5 to 7 years’ experience supporting multi-asset portfolios.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, computer science or related fields with proven academic success.
Quantitative focus preferred. CFA, CIMA, CFP, MS, MBA, or PhD also preferred.
Experience in multi-asset research, investments or rating agencies.
Committed self-motivated individual who can demonstrate initiation and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and exemplary attention to detail.
Knowledge of programming, etc. preferred.

In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
