General Description
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance operations at the shelter program to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff and children in care. This role includes supervising maintenance staff, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, particularly those relevant to ORR and State Licensing standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance staff
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards
- Perform and oversee maintenance repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and general building systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Ensure all systems and equipment are functioning properly and safely.
- Ensure the facility complies with OSHA regulations, local building codes and ORR shelter standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues.
- Work closely with shelter leadership to support operational needs.
- Assist in preparing the facility for audits and inspections.
- Support shelter events and activities with set-up and breakdown logistics.
- Maintains program facility in a safe, functional and presentable manner.
- Responds to all work orders in a timely manner.
- Requests maintenance supplies and equipment as needed from maintenance supervisor or designee.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features.
