Summary: The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising the build, and assembly of mechanical components used on tooling for an individual project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead employees through effective communication, orientation, coaching, training, and development. Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of employees.
- Day to day supervision and coordination of build/assembly activities for all mechanical equipment
- Assist in accurate time reporting activities through the ERP system, while monitoring and instructing correct procedures
- Supervise assembly tasks in the most effective manner regarding time, cost and function
- Review mechanical problems, and directs adjustments/repair work as necessary
- Ensure production targets are met by assigning operators tasks and working collaboratively with other departments
- Develop procedures, work instructions, and standard training plans on new equipment operation, part processes, and part quality inspection
- Serve as specialist on the design, build, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure that team leaders and team members have the necessary materials, equipment, information and training to meet safety, quality, and production goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce costs.
- Report equipment and required documentation changes in line with company procedures
- Identify delays and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines
- Resolve production issues and/or escalate as necessary
- Ensure that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed
- Assist in hiring, training, counseling/discipline, and performance appraisal processes for mechanical team members
- Report out departmental performance measures, maintain data resources for measuring production status and effectiveness
- Maintain proper (6S) housekeeping throughout the manufacturing facility
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Perform all other duties, as assigned
Education & Skills Requirements:
- 5 years proven mechanical experience building and integrating automated assembly systems
- 3 years proven experience in leading / managing machine tool assembly teams
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and successfully layout equipment according to prints
- High regard for safety standards
- Knowledge of Mechanical Standards, tooling assembly & setup.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High regard for safety standards
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
Work Environment: This position operates in a plant and manufacturing environment.
Work type & Expected hours of work: Regularly works on-site at local Paslin locations. This position is for regular, full-time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. May be required to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs.
