Description

Job Overview & Purpose

The Large Format Print Operator – Show Site Graphics Lead is responsible for the hands-on production, finishing, and preparation of large-format graphics for trade shows, corporate events, and internal needs across Heritage’s branches. This position focuses on operating printing and finishing equipment, maintaining production quality, and ensuring graphics are produced accurately and efficiently to meet event timelines.

In addition to shop-based production responsibilities, this role serves as the Show Site Graphics Lead as needed—overseeing on-site graphics installation, coordinating with foremen and project teams, and troubleshooting graphic-related issues during move-in, show days, and dismantle to ensure brand consistency and execution success.

This is a production and installation leadership role, not a graphic design position.

Reports To: National Graphic Production Manager

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain large-format roll-to-roll and flatbed printers (e.g., HP, Roland, Vutek), RIP software, and finishing equipment
  • Trim, laminate, mount, and package graphic materials for shipping while maintaining production accuracy and quality standards
  • Prepare digitally printed rolls and apply graphics to panels, substrates, and structures
  • Perform quality control checks at key stages of the production process to ensure final output meets project specifications
  • Follow approved graphic proofs, schematics, and layouts for fabrication and application
  • Execute basic file prep and pre-flight review prior to production (not creative design)
  • Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and manifesting of graphic panels and packages
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Pre-Press, Project Management, Fabrication, Warehouse) to align print requirements and timelines
  • Track materials, report shortages, and communicate reorders to Purchasing
  • Maintain production equipment and work areas in a safe, organized condition

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as Show Site Graphics Lead, including:
    • Installing and applying graphics during move-in and throughout the event
    • Coordinating with the production manager, project managers, and foremen on-site
    • Leading on-site graphics deployment and sequencing
    • Managing graphic-related issues on-site and escalating when required
    • Reviewing show books, floorplans, schematics, and proofs prior to site arrival
    • Ensuring branding consistency, installation quality, and adherence to show standards
  • Cross-train in other areas of the Creative Production and Graphics departments
  • Train and mentor team members on equipment use, production standards, and installation best practices
  • Support warehouse, logistics, and load-out activities as needed
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process and efficiency improvements

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position is full-time and in-person, requiring on-site support at trade show events and in other Heritage facilities, including overnight travel and weekend/extended work hours based on event schedules.
