Your New Role!
Reporting to the Senior Manager Brand Marketing, this role is part of a dynamic team driving impactful marketing communications that enhance Murdoch University’s reputation and recruitment efforts.
The Content Marketer Brand Communications plays a key role in driving the university’s content strategy, including content planning, collaborating across MCO to craft and produce engaging, audience-focused content that aligns with strategic objectives. With a strong grasp of brand marketing principles, they create compelling content for major brand campaigns and reputation-building initiatives targeting key audiences across domestic markets.
This role involves the development of strategic creative ideas and production briefs, producing high-quality materials with strong copywriting skills, and tailoring content for different audiences and channels. A deep understanding of content strategy principles and social media is essential, ensuring content sparks conversations and drives engagement with relevant, timely messaging.
Your key responsibilities will include –
- Develop content marketing strategies and planning in consultation and collaboration with MCO and university colleagues
- Work closely with MCO communications team, supporting strategic communications initiatives and leading content planning meetings
- Ideate, plan, create, and deploy original content for specific university audiences, determining platform/format, medium, look and feel, authorship, frequency and duration of messaging
- Produce content that supports the university reputation and brand campaigns, adapting for web, print and other mediums
- Lead the university’s social media presence, s, overseeing the ongoing strategy and management of owned social channels and working with colleagues to produce and publish content

This Fixed Term (18 Months) | Full Time attracts a remuneration of $95,826 - $105,578 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- A tertiary degree with 3+ years’ experience in a content creation or community management role or an equivalent combination or relevant experience and/or education/training;
- Knowledge and understanding of content marketing practices, digital platforms and social media
- Demonstrated success in thinking creatively to concept, brief and deliver new ideas in the digital space.
- Demonstrated ability to use technical tools and analytics packages including experience with web CMSs, CRM, design software, publishing platforms and HTML
