The I&C Supervisor is responsible for managing electrical activities, personnel, and subcontractors to ensure safe and high-quality delivery of assigned scopes on the Alkimos project. They play a key role in applying safety, environmental, and quality controls while leading their section of the works and supporting team wellbeing through adherence to project systems and processes.
The Project
The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.
Key accountabilities for the position
- Direct electrical and instrumentation activities, supervise teams and subcontractors, and ensure safe, timely, and high-quality completion of work.
- Provide visible safety leadership, conduct inspections, enforce WH&S compliance, and promote a culture of wellbeing across the site.
- Manage construction schedules, plan and resource upcoming work, and support short- and long-term project programming.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, ensure workforce competency, and lead regular team and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards, minimize site impact, promote recycling, and support sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor cost allowances, manage procurement within budget, maintain accurate records, and escalate commercial issues when necessary.
- Oversee work quality, ensure compliance with specifications and standards, collaborate with engineering teams, and address non-conformances.
- Maintain detailed records, attend site meetings, liaise with logistics and other teams, and provide feedback on construction methods and performance.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrate strong leadership and coordination abilities to manage teams, subcontractors, and resources effectively across multiple work fronts.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness, conduct regular inspections, and ensure compliance with WH&S standards and permit processes.
- Possess sound knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices, including dust, noise, and waste management, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply commercial acumen to monitor costs, manage procurement, optimize equipment usage, and maintain accurate records for billing and reporting.
- Ensure quality control by collaborating with engineering teams, inspecting work against specifications, and addressing non-conformances promptly.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience supervising electrical and instrumentation works on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, coordinate resources, and deliver works aligned with schedules, budgets, and safety standards.
- Strong background in applying construction methodologies, interpreting technical documentation, and contributing to planning and programming processes.
