ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gardening Activities: Use gardening knowledge and experience to maintain the garden and grassed areas by sweeping, raking, mowing, weeding, pruning, mulching, composting and watering, and undertaking other seasonal tasks to keep the garden and grounds productive and pest-free.
• Garden Equipment: Be responsible for all tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly checked, used and stored, with particular attention to ensuring they are always maintained in a safe working order.
• Outdoor Areas: Ensure all outdoor areas, including the playground, are tidy and safe for all community members and children to use.
• Handyman Tasks: Undertake minor handyman tasks as required by the Site Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Knowledge and experience in plants, seasonal maintenance, and small gardening projects is required.
• Confident use and care for gardening tools and equipment.
• Level of fitness to undertake gardening activities, including digging and lifting soil.
• Good communication skills, both listening to and conveying information, ideas, and suggestions.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
• A national police record check, as this role requires access to valuable equipment and at times unsupervised access to secure areas.
• Completion of compulsory training modules: Code of Conduct, WHS, and Bullying and Harassment.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Working With Vulnerable People check.
• As this role involves long periods of standing and handling tools and equipment, suitable attire is required, including comfortable, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and taking regular breaks.
