Our German practice is led by a group of experienced Managing Directors specialising in advisory services across Restructuring, Debt Advisory, and Value Creation.

Join the Interpath team and support exciting projects as an Intern (m/f/d) in Game Theory & Negotiation at our offices in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, or Munich.

Your Challenge

In this role, you will support our team in applying advanced analytical and game-theoretic approaches to complex negotiation and procurement challenges.

Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting the development of game-theoretic approaches used in high-stakes negotiations for our clients
• Preparing presentations and analytical materials that translate complex theoretical concepts into clear insights for top management
• Contributing to competitive tender processes, including supplier evaluations, analysis of complex pricing models, and auction mechanisms
• Supporting negotiation teams in preparing comprehensive negotiation strategies, particularly when dealing with monopolistic suppliers
• Applying the latest academic insights from game theory, auction theory, mechanism design, market design, economic engineering, or behavioral economics and learning how these approaches can generate significant financial impact for our clients

Your Contribution to Success

You bring strong analytical capabilities and an interest in applying quantitative concepts to real-world business challenges.

You should have:

• Ongoing or near-completed studies in Economics, Business Administration, (Business) Mathematics, (Business) Engineering, or (Business) Informatics, ideally with a focus on game theory, auction theory, mechanism design, market design, behavioral economics, or industrial organization
• Ideally first practical experience in management consulting or in applying game or auction theory
• Strong skills in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to understand complex relationships quickly
• Strong communication and teamwork skills combined with client sensitivity and a proactive mindset
• Fluency in German (minimum C1) and English (minimum B2); additional languages are an advantage
