Position brief: To oversee all mobile crisis and respite nursing staff and ensuring individuals are receiving whole person healthcare, BHSN MOC is implemented, and quality indicators are being met. To provide health screenings, coordination of health referrals, and works in close collaboration with all Crisis program staff and participants. Will be the liaison between crisis and the clinic staff and providers. Must be willing to work flexible hours corresponding to the needs of the program. Expected to provide excellent patient care and compassion in every encounter, aligned with the organizations core values. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Assists with QARR/PSYCKES implementation and reporting
  • Assists with orientation and training of new nursing staff
  • Ensures health monitoring and health assessments are completed on admission
  • Oversees medication management ensuring all individuals have the needed meds and orders they will need during their stay
  • Oversees dispensing and/or administers medication as prescribed as needed.
  • Oversees, ensures and tracks that all respite participants are receiving Health Monitoring on admission and once weekly during their stay.
  • Oversees, ensures and tracks that all quality indicators are being.
  • Oversee/sign off on monthly MARS for both respite houses
  • Oversee the training and integrity of the medication management for all crisis respite programs to ensure state/federal compliance is met
  • Assists in revising/creating policies/procedures regarding healthcare matters in crisis and respite related to nursing or health care measures
  • Provide the Med training / competency evaluations for ALL staff.
  • Provide NARCAN trainings as needed for new hires
  • Oversee process for injections, UDS, etc. provided on-site.
  • Oversee implementation of MOC and clinical pathways.
  • Facilitate/document weekly crisis/respite Nursing meetings
  • Oversee COVID guidance is being practiced/followed
  • Operates as liaison between BHSN Clinic providers and crisis and respite
  • Conducts urine drug screenings in accordance with agency policies
  • Initiates tobacco cessation interventions when indicated
  • Attends department meetings and trainings as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned within context of job description

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • NYS Department of Education Registered Professional Nurse
  • Practiced as an RN for a minimum of one year
  • CPR certified 
  • Excellent engagement, organizational and communication skills 
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work with electronic database management systems
  • Ability to manage time effectively as well as to organize tasks.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team until collaborate across disciplines and programs
  • Ability to travel locally to various Adult Residential sites
