About the Role:

As a Business Analyst with AGL’s Trading Technology and Delivery team, you will play a key role in interfacing with wholesale trading risk, while facilitating change across trading and analytical business units. You will focus on trading systems build and run, including:

Delivery of Trading and Portfolio technology strategy and vision, by facilitating the continuous improvement of over 20 specialised IT systems.
Acting as an enabler and agent of change as AGL sets sights on transitioning its generation portfolio and capitalising on the significant investment made in the trading systems over the last 3 years.
Driving technology outcomes by genuinely partnering across the technology and business functions, to achieve overall BU outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Gathering, validating and documenting business requirements
  • Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts
  • Estimating costs and identifying business savings
  • Simplifying business requirements for the delivery team
  • Assist the delivery team with the coordination of planning ceremonies
  • Support testing resources with the resting of solutions
  • Support the business transition and help embed changes back into processes

About You:

You will ideally have exposure to energy trading, trading analytics, trading risk and trading finance, but most importantly you will be inquisitive and have experience with delivering complex end to end initiatives in an agile environment. Your stakeholder management, conflict management and collaboration skills will set you up for success.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • A detailed understanding of the Australian energy market and the emerging challenges faced with the transition to renewable energy and battery storage
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • The ability to balance multiple competing priorities and effectively manage expectations
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Experience facilitating workshops, where you have driven outcomes and solved problems between multiple parties
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or a commerce related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, .Net or other data technologies would be advantageous
