Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm
This is a school-year position with company paid time off during summer months and holidays.
Summary:
The custodian performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain the center in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Thoroughly clean all center areas, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and any other common areas within the facility according to the NAECY standards provided by the Center Director.
- Perform functions associated with floor and carpet care, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, shampooing, spot scrubbing, etc.
- Remove trash from the facility daily.
- Replace paper and soap supplies in restrooms and classrooms as needed.
- Periodically wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for children.
- Maintain an inventory of custodial supplies and equipment.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Center or County Director.
- Inform Center Director of any safety concerns within the facility.
- Utilize supplies in an efficient and effective manner to prevent waste.
- Adhere to the CDC Personnel Policies at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of students/families.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must possess or obtain required state and federal clearances.
- Proper attendance is required. Employees are expected to arrive on time, every day, able and available to work.
- May require travel to other centers within the county.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the day with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending.
- Frequent to occasional lifting of children and/or objects up to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out job duties.
