About the Role:

In anticipation of future government awards, GiaCare Inc. is now accepting applications for Physician – Family Practice to support Luke, Air Force Base, Phoenix, AZ.


Education: 

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).  
  • Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.  
  • American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists  
  • Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). 


 

Experience:

  • Required to meet clinical competency requirements

Certifications:

  • The DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists  
  • Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required in the TO
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Duties:

  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.  
  • Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.  
  • Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.  
  • Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.  
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.  
  • Technically proficient in clinically directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. Completes medical record documentation and coding and designated tracking logs and data reporting as required by local MTF/AF/DoD instructions, policies and guidance. Completes all required training in accordance with DoD, DHA and Medical Group policies/instructions and guidelines.
