About the HIM Department

At ReDiscover, our Health Information Management (HIM) team is more than just records and data, they’re trusted partners in patient care. HIM professionals help ensure every piece of client information is handled with precision, privacy, and purpose. From supporting providers to protecting patient confidentiality, this team keeps our mission running smoothly and securely.

What You’ll Do

• Play a key role in keeping our medical records accurate, organized, and secure. You’ll review closed charts to ensure everything is complete and ready for proper storage or retention.
• Partner with clinical teams, administrative staff, and outside providers to maintain high-quality records that meet compliance standards and support exceptional client care.
• Responds to walk-in customers requesting assistance and responsible for incoming department calls
• Scans various types of documentation received into EMR as needed.
• Assists with ad-hoc document requests throughout the day.
• Assists and provides backup and assistance for other HIM positions as needed/assigned.
• Keep track of the status and location of all medical records to ensure accessibility, security, and compliance with documentation procedures.

Requirements of the Position

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. Preference given to candidates with an Associate’s Degree in HIM or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HIM Department is preferred.
• Ability to a consistent full-time schedule of Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm is required.
• Ability to work on-site in the Lee’s Summit Headquarters building is required.
• Familiarity with mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfort with electronic health records and intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and G-Suite).
