POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs patient transport and other related duties in a timely manner. Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures, as required. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality in duties performed as Parking Shuttle Attendant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Possession of valid Oregon driver’s license; Excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital’s auto insurance policy; Ability to work independently without constant supervision; Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors and staff and others they may come into contact with, in a pleasant and constructive manner; Ability to prioritize workload to meet needs of in-house requesters in a timely manner; Ability to take direction from lead, manager or director regarding work activities and procedures; Ability to transport and work with all age groups; Good knowledge of body mechanics; Successful completion of on-the-job training program or applicable experience and demonstrated competence.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Assisting with moving patients and visitors (up to 300 lbs.) to shuttle cart or from shuttle cart to wheelchair and back. Have a full range of body motion by being able to bend, twist, lift, push and pull. Capable of sitting or driving up to 10 hours a day. Be able to handle stressful situations and help diffuse them.
