Job Description Summary

Bluetent  is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior WordPress Developer with expert-level skills in React, Gutenberg, and building custom WordPress plugins. You will play a critical role in enhancing the performance, functionality, and scalability of our WordPress websites and custom plugins, ensuring seamless integration with external SaaS applications via APIs. What You’ll Do (Functions & Responsibilities)

• Lead the continued development, maintenance, and optimization of our custom WordPress plugin designed for enterprise-scale environments.
• Create, refine, and maintain custom Gutenberg blocks using React.js, with a focus on high performance and responsiveness.
• Ensure smooth integration between WordPress and our SaaS application by utilizing robust APIs and troubleshooting communication issues effectively.
• Debug complex backend and frontend issues quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring an optimal user experience across all devices and browsers.
• Optimize database queries and overall WordPress site performance, ensuring fast load times and high scalability.
• Write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and secure code, adhering to development best practices such as automated testing (PHPUnit, Jest, Cypress), CI/CD pipelines, PHP and JavaScript linting, and version control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement in both code and infrastructure and proactively implement solutions.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For (Minimum qualifications)

• Expert level WordPress experience (5+ years), including Gutenberg editor. 
• Advanced level design skills (2+ years)
• Expert-level proficiency in WordPress development, specifically with React.js and Gutenberg block development.
• Strong experience with building custom WordPress plugins that integrate with SaaS applications using REST APIs.
• Proven track record of working on complex, large-scale, multi-site WordPress projects.
• Extensive experience with local development environments, particularly Docker.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, optimizing queries and improving database performance.
• Solid understanding of WordPress architecture, including the WP-REST-API.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks like PHPUnit (PHP), Jest (JavaScript), and Cypress (end-to-end testing).
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug issues related to API integrations, React-based components, and backend performance.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with browser debugging tools and techniques for optimizing frontend performance across various devices and browsers.
• An understanding of cloud infrastructure and how to build scalable WordPress solutions.

• Bachelors Degree or related field preferred
