Your JobMolex is looking for an enthusiastic aspiring engineer to fill a highly visible full-time Optical Process Engineer role. This individual will develop and improve processes that integrate, test, qualify, and transfer to manufacturing cutting-edge fiber optic MEMS-based Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) products for the exciting field of AI Cluster and Data Center. Our TeamMolex, Inc. is a global leader in electronic and optical solutions, providing innovative connectivity solutions for various industries and data center interconnections. In this role, you will work as a member of a dynamic multi-discipline team (product line management, electrical, mechanical, optical, and systems R&D, test development and automation, manufacturing, etc.), with colleagues from cross-continental geographic sites, and interact effectively with internal and external component suppliersWhat You Will DoUnder the guidance of Sr. Engineers, contribute to the development, validation, and continuous improvement of system assembly and integration processes.Develop and lead system tests, analyze data and generate reports, and assist in system failure analyses (FAs). Take ownership of house-built test equipment, perform GR&R calibrations and implement preventive maintenances, assist in troubleshooting and upgrades. Support system reliability testing, prepare sample systems and help analyze and report data. Document process Work Instructions (WIs) and SOPs. Provide technical leadership to technicians.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree program in applied physical science or engineering discipline with an optical orientation and with a graduation date before May 2026.Prior internship or lab work experienceWorking knowledge of free space, fiber, or micro-optical components, modules, and/or systems; had experience handling optical parts and measurement instruments.Experienced in large data analysis, proficient in one or more of the common data programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C#.Capable of operating basic measurement instruments such as optical power meters, OSA, and Oscilloscopes.What Will Put You Ahead Knowledge of MEMS device physics, fabrication, or application is a big plus. Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Test. Knowledge of glass, ceramic, metallic materials, and optical adhesives. Familiar with opto-mechanics and basic electronics.For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000-$130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
