[What the role is]

As our marketing specialist for Japan, you will work with EDB’s Marketing /PR managers and International Operations team to execute a marketing strategy with a focus on developing content to raise awareness of Singapore to generate and nurture leads amongst the Japanese business community.

[What you will be working on]

Main responsibilities (include and not limited to)

Undertake Japan-related PR matters with guidance from EDB’s comms teams. This would include:

  • Preparing press releases, factsheets and other relevant media materials for engaging Japanese media

  • Maintaining a list of key Japanese media editors and journalists that EDB could engage and cultivating them on a regular basis

Undertake content curation and production of EDB’s in-market publications, newsletter and website. This would include:

  • identification of topics of interest or trending topics among target audience, and researching industry-related topics

  • drafting articles which include original articles, translated pieces, and interview pieces where you will need to interview execs for content. You may also have work with vendors to do so.

  • working with media publications or partners for partnered content

  • working with appointed vendors to provide content in specific formats for publishing the content online

  • Laying out of content into print format, or working with vendors to do so

Related marketing functions that include:

  • Assist with planning and management of physical, virtual or hybrid events organised by EDB

  •  Assist with identifying and coordinating with key multiplier organisations (including tax consultancies, inter-governmental and trade organisations) on joint-marketing initiatives to seed our key messages and generate leads

[What we are looking for]

Job Requirements:

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be:

  • Native speaker or fluent in written and spoken Japanese (at least JLPT N1 and above), to be able to create content pieces and liaise with Japanese vendors/media

  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience as a content writer, copy writer or similar role.

  • Candidates should have proven track record working in similar capacity, with experience with the Japan market.

  • Familiar with the media landscape in Japan

  • Results-oriented, with high level of initiative, drive and resourcefulness

  • Fast and independent learner who can learn on-the-job and deliver quality work with limited supervision

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate well with different stakeholders

  • Able to manage multiple projects while keeping to deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as well as virtual communications software (including Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

It would be preferred if candidate has the following:

  • Strong familiarity and prior knowledge of Singapore 

  • Work experience in B2B/ G2B marketing

  • Native Japanese speakers who are non-Singaporean/PR are welcome to apply.

This role will be based in Singapore.
