JOB SUMMARY 

The Chain Director for Walmart and Sam’s Club leads FIFCO USA’s initiatives with strong focus on building the business and relationship with their corporate buyers, regional sales teams, FIFCO brand & trade marketing functions, and the wholesaler network. The Chain Director combines people management skills, the disciplines necessary to manage the retail market through a distribution network, the knowledge of regional and national retail initiatives, and the understanding of all segments of the beer category to coordinate all efforts required for developing the FIFCO USA portfolio at Walmart and Sam’s Club.  This position will utilize their department to ensure that retail support enhances the overall division strategy, the category management team is effectively integrated in the call structure and syndicated and wholesaler data is transformed into sales information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead FIFCO USA’s initiatives by developing productive business relationships with senior management in all assigned banners/divisions and at Walmart and Sam’s Club HQ offices.
  • Inspire trade marketing and brand teams to support Walmart and Sam’s Club strategy through effective promotions, merchandising, and specialty package development.
  • Owning budgets and results (distribution, price, promotion, and visibility) at both the national & regional levels.
  • Lead the Walmart and Sam’s Club strategy and direct the Walmart and Sam’s Club team to manage the process necessary to sell the FIFCO USA portfolio.                                                                
  • Coordinate regional and national retail initiatives with regional sales teams to ensure effective wholesaler execution.                                                                                                                        
  • Leverage internal resources to accelerate Tier one account development.                                
  • Identify and communicate changes and/or advances in schematic software, syndicated data, retail channel management, retailer consumer goods/beverage strategy, industry factors, and wholesaler chain management. 
  • Coordinate development of post and pre-promotional analysis, schematic distribution and shelf space opportunities, category validator account strategy, and field sales reporting.       
  • Identify qualitative and quantitative training necessary to plan and communicate portfolio strategy through the three-tier distribution system.                                                                        
  • Develop department administrative capabilities to communicate programs to all constituents, maintain competitive ad activity database, create and distribute IRI reports.         
  • Provide, directly or indirectly, sales, communication, and technical training to enhance and improve Chain Account Manager and Market Manager selling capabilities.                                    
  • Analyze, allocate, and supervise Walmart and Sam’s Club teams’ travel, field activation, and any incremental funding, and deliver on plan or better spend to plan budgets.     
  • Provide selling and communication leadership and support to Kroger team.  Attend and contribute additional selling support to Walmart and Sam’s Club Chain Account Manager’s strategic sales calls.     
  • Full understanding and knowledge of Walmart and Sam’s Club Internal Data system.
  • Ability to travel and work directly with the Field Sales Team.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2-4+ years of direct wholesale management
  • 2-4+ years of Key Account or National Account management, 2+ years of managerial responsibilities to demonstrate budget and people management  
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of IRI/Nielsen
  • Knowledge and understanding of Walmart and Sam’s Club internal data systems - Retail Link, Madrid, Luminate, Scintilla
  • Strong communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $135,000 -203,600/year, not including benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at FIFCO USA, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to enable future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package, including health insurance!
