High School Classroom Teacher - LTS
7 1/2 Hours per day 
 
Requirements for the Position
1.   Experience Level
a.   Successful completion of student teaching is the minimum
2.   Education background
a.     Proper Pennsylvania certification in subject/special field area
b.     B.S. or B.A. Degree is the minimum
3.   The individual’s credentials are in compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing individuals functioning in the capacity of this position.
 
Major Responsibilities
1.   Plan and deliver instruction
2.   Encourage all students to learn well
3.   Maintain and report information on pupil progress
 
Duties and Responsibilities
1.   Teach the subjects required in the curriculum and planned course documents as assigned by the high school principal in accordance with the district’s proposed schedule
2.   Prepare and submit written lesson plans as a basis for the day’s activities
3.   Perform such general building duties as prescribed by the high school principal and his/her assistants
4.   Provide supervision in the halls during the passing of classes
5.   Follow the procedure prescribed in the handbook in regard to fire drills, report cards, eligibility reports, failures, etc.
6.   Attend all faculty and department meetings
7.   Participate in all in-service and training activities
8.   Comply with requests and recommendations of the department chairpersons
9.   Plan and initiate parent-teacher conferences when desirable
10.   Contribute to the development of the annual instructional budget
11.   Perform such additional responsibilities as may be determined by the Board of School Directors and the district administration
