The Administrative Assistant supports the efficient, professional, and welcoming operation of the Godine Early Learning Center office. Working collaboratively with the Director and Operations Manager, this role helps ensure smooth daily workflows by coordinating communication, documentation, and logistics across families, educators, and leadership.
The Administrative Assistant plays an important role in maintaining accurate records, organizing office systems, coordinating communication, and ensuring the front office runs smoothly. This position supports operational excellence by supporting essential administrative details, assisting with compliance processes, and contributing to the warm, community-centered culture of the school. The Administrative Assistant helps maintain organized systems, supporting efficient workflows, and strengthening communication between families, staff, and leadership. This role contributes to the smooth day-to-day functioning of the ELC while reflecting the values and mission of the ELC and JCC Greater Boston.

This is a regular, part-time (30 hours per week), non-exempt primarily in-person position. This job offers great perks, including JCC Health & Fitness individual membership, a supportive, vibrant fully in-person work environment, and a competitive starting pay rate of $20 per hour.

Education and Experience: High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
Minimum of two years in an administrative or office support role, ideally in a school or child-focused setting.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet this minimum hiring criteria.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn internal systems (e.g., Kaymbu, Teams, Traction Rec etc.).
· Commitment to confidentiality, reliability, and teamwork.
Physical Requirements: This position requires work to be performed on-site/in-person. Core hours are scheduled; flexibility is occasionally required to meet office coverage needs. The role requires professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, child-centered environment. Physical activity such as bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 30 lbs. may be needed. Requires flexibility with occasional local travel and some evening or weekend work needed.
