HP Tuners is seeking an experienced full time Staff Mobile Application Developer to join our team in Buffalo Grove, IL. This position develops new mobile applications, updates, and maintains existing applications, and assists with customer support escalations. This is an on-site position and requires the candidate to work in our Buffalo Grove, IL office (relocation assistance is available).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Work with a cross-functional team to architect, design and develop new mobile applications

· Take into consideration and balance functional requirements, maintainability, re-usability, scalability, extensibility and cost effectiveness

· Develop and break down functional requirements into well-defined tasks

Research complex problems and implement algorithmic solutions

· Provide expert technical input into product planning and concepts

· Update and maintain existing mobile applications

· Assist with customer support escalations

· Be proactive, anticipate issues in advance, and prioritize the user experience

· Mentor and guide other engineers including areas such as software methodology

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

· 6+ years experience with native Android development (Java/Kotlin), iOS experience is a plus (Objective C, Swift)

· 3+ years experience with C++ development with proficiency of C++ standards and specifications

· Understanding of C++ compliant languages, such as C, Java, and Python

· Proficiency with the concepts of OOP and OOD

· Advanced proficiency with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and communication between applications and peripherals over BLE. 

· Configuration management processes and source control tools experience

· Demonstration of a successful track record in managing complex projects and successfully providing innovative App solutions

· Ability to take initiative and work autonomously on projects

· Strong problem solving and debugging skills

· UI/UX design experience

· Passion for automotive and/or motorsports is a plus

· Experience with CAN and other automotive communications protocols

· Knowledge of engine and transmission operation

· Candidate must have good communication skills and be familiar with email and other online communications tools

· Openminded, positive approach to problem solving and working with others

· Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment to agreed upon timelines

· Demonstration of excellent judgment and decision-making abilities

· Familiarity with Embedded Linux based environments, such as Yocto, is a plus

Physical Requirements

· Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly require to sit and work at a desk and computer for prolonged periods of time.

Compensation and Benefits

At HP Tuners LLC, we understand that compensation plays a key role when considering a new opportunity. We are dedicated to ensuring fair pay for all employees and continually work towards greater transparency in our compensation practices. The estimated base salary range for this position is $110,000 – 140,000, with actual pay determined including factors such as location, skills, experience, and other relevant considerations. This position also qualifies for a discretionary bonus and a complete benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, paid time off (PTO), and a 401(k) program with employer matching.
