Restaurant servers are not just taking meal orders; they create a warm and welcoming environment for our guests to enjoy and relax.  Servers take a hands-on approach to ensuring guests’ expectations are not just met, but exceeded.  We are seeking candidates with a passion for food and wine, and enjoy banter with a diverse clientele.   Our philosophy is that our guests’ experience will never exceed the experience of our employees, and therefore we are looking for servers who are excited to work in a team and who foster an energetic and fun working environment.  

The Lenox is home to three distinct restaurant outlets, and banquet and meeting space:  

• Sweeney’s on Boylston.   We’re known for a lively good time and authentic Irish classics served up alongside Lenox favorites. Whenever you amble through our doors, you’ll find us spirited as ever - so sit and stay a while!
• The Irving at The Lenox. Our intimate lobby cocktail bar, The Irving cultivates a sense of intrigue and ambiance, harkening back to the heyday of our turn-of-the-century opening. Step inside, and our love for creating well-crafted cocktails becomes instantly apparent.
• Willow & Ivy.  Helmed by The Lenox’s Executive Chef Daniel Kenney, Willow & Ivy will offer a fresh take on New England-inspired American cuisine. The reimagined space and menu aim to provide guests with a refined yet inviting dining experience that celebrates regional flavors and culinary craftsmanship.
• With our banquet and meeting venues' special blend of elegance, iconic architecture and highly personalized service, there's a delicious combination of food & drink to make your wedding, social or corporate event one to remember.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with greeting guests, creating a great first impression for the dining experience.
• Completion of all opening and closing side work.
• Ability to provide detailed descriptions of all menu items, assisting with pairings, while ensuring accurate orders are taken.
• Provide the highest service standards possible to all guests.
• Full knowledge and descriptions of all wines, beers, and cocktails, and be able to make recommendations.
• Service of cocktails, wine and champagne in accordance with safe alcohol service standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness of server stations, and equipment.
• Meet and exceed all guest request and expectations with a professional attitude.
• Keep tables clean throughout the evening.
• Adhering to the proper cash handling procedure including tip reporting, due backs, and bank.

Qualifications

• At least one year’s experience as a bartender or server in a high-end restaurant or hotel
• Strong knowledge of food, wine, beer, spirits and mixology
• Strong guest service skills with the ability to respectfully engage 
• Knowledge of retail math for handling transactions accurately
• Familiarity with banquet or catering services is a plus
• Knowledge of Toast or similar POS system a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Multi-lingual a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays as needed.
