Purchasing Analyst

Exempt

Reports To: Director of Glass Procurement

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Source and purchase automotive glass parts for the replacement market.
• Monitor, evaluate and order replenishment parts to maintain inventory levels by geographic region.
• Purchasing product based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability.
• Analyze current and incoming inventory levels according to active dates to build part orders.
• Analyze vendor and supplier cost, quality and delivery performance when ordering SKUs.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance of individual parts by location.
• Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases.
• Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements.
• Participate in team activity to manage purchasing and order flow, review inventory transfer planning between regional Branches.
• Closely work and communicate with Supply Chain Team Members.
• Additional duties may be assigned.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Detail-oriented and focused team player who is able to organize, prioritize, and multi-task.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Passionate about maintaining and purchasing inventory.   
• Advanced skills in analyzing, interpreting part data in relation to inventory stock levels in a fast changing market environment.
• Understands the Supply Chain of automotive glass parts for the replacement market.
• Enjoys and thrives in fast paced, high volume fluid work environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Technical software skills relating to the use of the accessory products in the replacement market preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel skills required.
• Accountability and personal organization are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• College degree in business administration or related field OR a combination of successful equivalent experience and education.
• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and procurement.
• Automotive purchasing experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for purchasing automotive glass for the replacement market based on quality, price and lead-time to maintain inventory stock levels. Evaluation, decision-making and communication skills are extremely important in this job and incumbent must have strong attention to detail and be efficient with time-management.

To be successful as a Purchasing Analyst, it’s preferred to have working knowledge of automotive glass parts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and making fine discriminations in sound; Exerting up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch occasionally during 8-10-hour work shift.
