Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.
Job overview and responsibilities
The Shift Manager, Operations Support oversees the real time load control processes and personnel. This position provides leadership and guidance to ensure safe, efficient operations while leading real time flight level weight and balance planning. This position will work cross departmental with other operational teams to manage the operation. This position is responsible for the development, coaching and mentorship of front-line team members.
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 or more years' experience in an airline, airport and/or network operations leadership role
- Knowledge of Airport and Network Operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Conflict resolution and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and technical skills using industry and United applications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to work all shifts and holidays as required
- Curiosity about all aspects of airline operations and willingness to develop new skills and knowledge
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- 5+ years' experience in airline, airport and/or network operations leadership role
- Experience in Ramp operations, charter operations and/or load planning operations
- Experience in leading an operational team in a union environment
