INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST 

 

The Opportunity: 

Join our team of passionate, creative and enthusiastic associate partners! 

We are hiring an Inventory Management Specialist to identify and solve inventory issues for all distribution center and manufacturing teams, research inventory movement, and assist sales teams with product questions. You will work daily in a warehouse management system (WMS). We use SAP.  

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Plan, implement, and monitor activities related to material management and inventory control.
  • Work to maintain the accuracy of inventory while researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
  • Support sales teams in providing product information to customers.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain teams to assure product quality and availability.
  • Accurately reconciling and closing of manufacturing production orders.
  • Process the sending and receiving of outside vendor purchase orders.
  • Monitor stock quantities and inventory data for different sites/locations, such as our manufacturing, distribution center, and tradeshow storage areas.
  • Manage and coordinate product inventory activities, including cycle count programs and inventory balances.
  • Initiate continuous improvement, analyzing inventory variances, researching root causes, and formulating recommendations to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate and resource with other distribution center teams as necessary to meet business needs.

 

What You'll Need: 

  • 2 or more years of inventory control and warehouse experience.
  • Experience with yearly or quarterly inventory audits and/or cycle counting. Daily cycle count experience preferred.
  • WMS experience is required, SAP is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematical abilities – ability to calculate decimals, fractions, weight, and percentages as well as equations and conversions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize incoming work quickly and efficiently.
  • MS Office experience, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a forklift certification (training is provided).
  • Skills in developing and documenting established and newly created processes is preferred.
  • Rio Grande product knowledge is desired.

 

Schedule: You will work a rotating weekly schedule, ~6:30 am to ~7pm Monday – Friday, 8-hour daily shifts and open and/or close the physical building. 

 

Physical requirements:
Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time.
Bend, stoop, reach, twist, and walk on a regular basis throughout the entire 8-hour shift.
Lift up to 20 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
