Description

Vascor is growing rapidly and is offering you the opportunity to join our team where you will become an asset to the service we deliver to our customers every day. The Rail Supervisor oversees daily operations of automotive loading / unloading. This position will ensure quality and safety standards are being upheld by performing continuous audits with management staff. The Rail Supervisor position will also, at times, perform the job duties of the Sr. Yard Manager.

Rail Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and lead rail crew team that is innovative and set up to meet and comply with requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company, AAR and manufacturer requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate or prepare operational plans and reports
  • Maintaining good working relationships with internal stakeholders, including engineers, other Project Services Leads, interdivisional employees, and the management team, clients
  • Supporting projects during planning to help determine staffing requirements based on the workload and allotment of available resources.
  • Complete on-rail inspections
  • Perform daily quality audits

 

Qualifications


Qualification for Rail Supervisor

  • 4-year college degree or 4 years’ management experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
  • Working knowledge of rail operations
  • Experience managing successful, large rail transit projects
  • Ability to present effectively information to clients and/or agency staff
  • Ability to remain flexible and manage dynamic project implementation
  • Ability to adhere to project scopes, budgets, and schedule
  • Valid driver’s license with experience operating both automatic and standard transmissions preferred

Physical Demands

  • This position requires the following physical demands:
  • Lifting to 25 lbs.1-3 hrs. Throughout the day
  • Standing 6-8 hours/day
  • Walking, 6-8 hrs./day
  • Reach above shoulder level 1-3 hrs./day.
  • Bend, Stoop, Squat, and or twist-Repeatedly throughout day.

Environmental

  • May be exposed to excessive noise depending on job location and operations in progress.
  • Will be working around moving machinery and equipment daily.
  • May be exposed to marked changes in temperature and /or humidity.
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, radiation, chemical depending on the work location,
  • Potentially walks on uneven ground.
  • May be required to drive motorized equipment such as golf carts depending on the work location.
  • May be required to operate a shuttle van in Releasing Yards
