We’re seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team at our Trenton, IL corporate office. In this role, you’ll support the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including journal entries, reconciliations, month- and year-end close activities, and compliance with company policies. This position is a great fit for someone with strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in Sage

• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

• Assist with monthly and annual closing processes

• Review and analyze general ledger activity for accuracy

• Monitor and report on cash balances to support capital resource planning

• Prepare financial statements and management reports

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies

• Provide support for audits (internal and external) and special projects

• Assist with tax data compilation and preparation of tax returns

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred; internship experience considered

• Strong understanding of standard accounting practices

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems; Sage experience a plus

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
