Schooner Island Marina, a full-service, 300+ slip marina located in the heart of Wildwood, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead operations at this premier waterfront destination. 

Recruitment for this role is being supported by Alliance Marine as part of our marina leadership recruitment efforts. The marina is independently owned and operated; Alliance Marine is assisting with the hiring process only.

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay with direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway, Schooner Island is a true boater’s haven—welcoming both seasonal and transient guests to enjoy South Jersey’s vibrant coastal lifestyle. The marina accommodates vessels up to 110 feet and offers a wide range of amenities, including a fuel dock, 50-ton travel lift, full-service yard, ship store, pool, WiFi, laundry facilities, and modern bathhouses. With its close proximity to Wildwood’s famous beaches and boardwalk, the marina combines world-class boating with family-friendly hospitality.

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of marina operations—including dockage, service, yard, and retail functions—while fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to shape guest experiences, strengthen community relationships, and guide a well-established marina into its next phase of growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily marina operations, including dockage, service, yard, and ship store functions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop both seasonal and year-round teammates to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Identify, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and full P&L performance to achieve financial goals.
• Foster strong relationships with customers, vendors, and the local boating community.
• Support capital improvement projects and continuous operational enhancements.
• Represent the marina’s brand and uphold high standards for hospitality, safety, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of management experience in marina operations, hospitality, or a related marine environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Hands-on, customer-focused management approach.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, revenue targets, and operational performance.
• Familiarity with marina management systems and scheduling software is a plus.
• A genuine passion for boating and the waterfront lifestyle.
