Overview
We are seeking passionate and skilled Cooks to join our team at our Black Bear Diner in West Wendover, NV. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within a restaurant or food industry setting. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals while ensuring adherence to food safety standards and dietary requirements. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a food service or culinary role within a restaurant or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and menu planning.
- Familiarity with food handling standards and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
