About the Role

The Employee Housing and Transportation Manager plays a key role in shaping a positive and memorable experience for our international interns in our J1 program. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role perfect for someone who loves working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and takes pride in creating a welcoming, supportive environment.

You’ll oversee all aspects of employee housing and transportation, ensuring our team members are safe, comfortable, and well supported throughout their time at The Cliffs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all employee housing and transportation operations across multiple communities.
  • Manage shuttle drivers — including scheduling, training, payroll, performance management, and leadership.
  • Coordinate shuttle and work schedules with department managers for smooth transportation logistics.
  • Greet and transport arriving employees from airports to housing, including occasional early morning or late-night arrivals.
  • Conduct regular inspections of employee housing to ensure safety, comfort, and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate maintenance, housekeeping, and furnishing needs for housing units.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee housing and transportation concerns.
  • Assist the Recruiting team with travel coordination, onboarding logistics, and helping employees obtain Social Security numbers, bank accounts, and other necessities.
  • Plan and coordinate cultural and community activities to enhance the J1 experience.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, repairs, cleanliness, and compliance for the employee shuttle fleet.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Recruiting on housing deductions and budget tracking.
  • Prepare and manage the housing and transportation budget.
  • Prepare and analyze housing and transportation data; generate regular management reports.
  • Work with vendor partners on service, products and pricing such as vehicle leasing companies, internet providers, fuel card partners, etc. 
  • Support emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures for employee housing.
  • Drive shuttle routes when needed to ensure reliable transportation coverage.
  • Build positive relationships with apartment property managers and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience with an acceptable driving record.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Friendly, confident, and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related administrative tools.
  • Experience in hospitality, housing, or transportation management is a plus.
  • Must be able to drive or ride in employee shuttles regularly.
  • Ability to drive large vans such as 15 passenger vehicles 
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Willingness to pick up arriving interns from various countries from the airport and assist with luggage.  

 

 Physical Requirements: 

  • Excellent eyesight for computer and phone work 
  • Ability to stand, stoop, climb stairs, bend and lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, riding and driving the employee shuttle van
  • Talking and listening continuously in the process of verbal communication 
  • Health that allows individuals to work in fast-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
